Playschool Song Lyrics

By Michael Bacon

Walking along the road today

When a big old crow flew up to me and said

“Won’t you come up and fly in the sky?”

I said I’d like to but I’ll tell you why

I’m going to Charlestown Playschool, Gonna have a lot of fun,

Gonna roll in the grass, I’m gonna run in the sun.

Got a big old tire swinging from an old tree

And there’s lot of little people gonna be friends to me.

I walked a little further past a big white barn

when a horse said to me ‘Won’t you come for a ride?

We’ll ride through the stream and we’ll ride through the wood.”

I said I’d like to if I only could

But I’m going to Charlestown Playschool, Gonna have a lot of fun,

Gonna roll in the grass, I’m gonna run in the sun

Got a big old tire swinging from an old tree.

And there’s lot of little people gonna be friends to me.

Just as I got to the Playschool road

I saw a little snake and his friend Mr. Toad.

“Won’t you come down and slither in the grass?”

I said “Thanks a lot fellas but I’ll have to pass.”

Cause I’m going to Charlestown Playschool, Gonna have a lot of fun,

Gonna roll in the grass, I’m gonna run in the sun.

Got a big old tire swinging from an old tree

And there’s lot of little people gonna be friends to me.

When I got the Playschool I said to Miss Betty

“Better sit down this’ll sound kinda funny.

But animals can talk and I can’t be wrong

and its all written down in this silly old song”

And it goes

I’m going to Charlestown Playschool, Gonna have a lot of fun,

Gonna roll in the grass, I’m gonna run in the sun.

Got a big old tire swinging from an old tree

And there’s lot of little people gonna be friends to me.

Repeat and fade out...
