Hyson Book

Charlestown Playhouse is featured in a book by Marilou Hyson, an accomplished expert on early childhood education. Marilou first became aware of early childhood education as a professional field when she was a parent at Playschool in the 1970's. Since then she has helped to lead the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and advocated for children across the globe.

Her latest book features a profile of Laura Sacco and how Playschool was able to adapt to outdoor learning in the Covid pandemic.
