Laura Sacco, Head of School

Laura and her family reside in Exton, Chester County.  She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, along with bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education, as well as a certification in Special Education.
Laura’s life’s work has centered on supporting children and their families. In addition to working directly with children of all ages, she has supported educators through staff training and professional development. Growing up as the daughter of a YMCA Health and Physical Education Director and summer camp director, Laura learned early on the importance of community and developed a deep love for spending her days alongside young children.
With her background in Early Childhood Education and her strong belief in the value of exceptional play-based learning, Laura immediately connected with the sights, sounds, and spirit of Charlestown Playhouse during her first visit. The warm sense of community and village atmosphere drew both Laura and her husband in, and they continue to feel it was one of the greatest gifts they gave their children.
Laura’s youngest child attended Charlestown Playhouse, and she often jokes that her two older children experience “Playschool envy” because they missed out on the experience during their preschool years. As a family, they treasure the increasingly rare evenings spent together as schedules grow busier each year, and they are often found attending and supporting Playschool through family events and fundraisers.
